Job Description

Hospitalist Opportunity Position Summary UNC Health Pardee is offering an opportunity for a Family or Internal Medicine Physician to join their well-established Hospitalist group. Hospitalists will engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of their overall professional responsibility. These patient care activities include, but are not limited to: Position Summary
  • Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral of consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and determination of readiness and planning for discharge for inpatients
  • Coordination of admissions from ER and area hospitals
  • Direct contract and consultations with patient family members, friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and care plans
  • Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes professional input from all members of the patient care team
  • Anticipate discharge needs and work with nursing on transition of care to prevent readmissions
  • Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements
  • During hours to scheduled hospital attendance, respond to all emergency codes and be available to provide professional services for emergencies for all inpatients by request of medical staff or nursing leaders
APP Supervision Job Requirements :
  • Board certified (Required)
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Available to work 7 on/7 off schedule with swing shift hours (12:00pm-11:00pm) jessica.
