Marina Crew Member - Fisherman's Wharf Marina Acme Marina Management LLC Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Part-time $15.50 - $16.00 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications CPR Certification Guest relations Outdoor work experience Boat handling In-person customer service Moving First Aid Certification Marine navigation Rope handling at sea Full Job Description The Marina Crew Member is responsible for assistance with the daily marina tasks which includes helping to ensure our marina operations run smoothly and that our guests' expectations for a welcoming, clean and safe environment are met and exceeded.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Assists Marina Crew Leader and other Marina Crew Members in marina related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power, water), black water pump out, waste disposal and facility sanitation. Provide the highest level of customer and guest services by expediting all requests from vessels including transport of patrons and baggage to and from dockside and delivery of provisions and packages. Light maintenance duties when needed at the Marina Routinely operate motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and sanitation policies Performs other duties as assigned or required. Required Education and Experience Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with teammates Enjoys working with the public to provide exceptional customer service Adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment Must enjoy working outdoors Working weekends and holidays is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to swim CPR and First aid certified Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions. General seamanship knowledge, boating right of ways rules, basic navigation, and inshore and offshore mooring techniques. Work tasks may be performed both indoors and outdoors.
Physical Demands:
Physical abilities required for job . The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, reaching, bending, turning, and stooping, Outside work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions. Normal vision and hearing ranges required. Must be comfortable using all dock equipment and materials (gas pump, boats, ropes, anchors, among others). Work Environment Outside work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions. Work tasks may be performed both indoors and outdoors. Working in wet and slippery conditions. Frequently working in an outdoor, hot, and damp environment.
