The Harborvale Bar Lead Who We Are:
The Harborvale in Burlington is the newest hospitality offering by Westport Hospitality, the team behind Hotel Vermont, the nationally recognized Condé Nast Traveler "Best Hotel in New England." As Vermont's first Autograph Collection hotel and only the third in New England, The Harborvale promises to be "Exactly Like Nothing Else." The Harborvale is seeking a Bar Lead to join our newly reimagined, one-of-a-kind property located in downtown Burlington, Vermont, set on the shores of Lake Champlain. The Harborvale's story is inspired by the wonder and sense of place that Lake Champlain provides; the adventure of fresh experiences, the opportunity to reminisce about fond memories while creating new stories to share. Position Overview:
The Bar Lead at The Harborvale will bring their experience of exceptional service and ability to celebrate the extraordinary guest connections to our team to enhance what this property is known for. Core Responsibilities:
Deliver warm, genuine hospitality by creating welcoming and memorable experiences for every guest Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, and collaborate with F&B leadership on the ongoing development and evolution of the bar and beverage menus, including seasonal cocktail development and maintaining consistency in recipes and execution. Knowledge of espresso beverages Take an active role in the training, coaching, and professional development of the bar team, including bartenders, baristas, banquet bartenders, and servers. Anticipate guest needs and go above and beyond to exceed expectations Take pride in clear communication, supporting a positive and efficient team environment to ensure high-quality service Handle orders and payments accurately while keeping service smooth and organized Contributes to a clean, inviting atmosphere that reflects pride in the workplace and respect for guests and colleagues Maintain organized, clean, and well-stocked beverage service and storage areas, ensuring products, tools, and supplies are properly stored and readily accessible. Support beverage inventory management, including completing monthly inventory accurately and assisting with maintaining appropriate product levels. Monitor beverage and bar supply needs and coordinate timely ordering to support uninterrupted daily operations. Provide leadership and operational support during assigned shifts, including participating in Manager on Duty (MOD) coverage as needed. Help uphold beverage recipes, presentation standards, service expectations, and established operating procedures to ensure consistency across the bar team, while working with F&B leadership to embrace and spearhead the nightly Sunset Ritual as a key part of the Harborvale guest experience. Actively participate in F&B leadership meetings and other operational meetings as requested, contributing beverage updates, ideas, challenges, and opportunities for continued improvement.
Position Requirements:
Must be available for flexible schedules, weekends, and holidays Has 5 years of bartending and restaurant experience. Must be able to lift #25 repeatedly during a day. Must be able to carry trays with glassware and dishes We offer competitive wages and benefits. This is a tipped position, with a base hourly rate of $18.00-$26.00 depending on shift, experience and qualifications, plus additional tip income.
