About Vermont Distillers Vermont Distillers is a family owned & operated craft distillery based in Marlboro, VT with an additional Tasting Room & Retail Outlet on Church Street in Burlington, VT. President Ed Metcalfe founded the distillery in 2008 and currently runs the company along with his two sons, Augustus and Dominic. Their flagship product, Metcalfe's Vermont Maple Cream Liqueur, was launched in 2012 and became an instant hit. Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Tasting Room Associate and become the welcoming face of our Distillery Tasting Room experience! In this energetic role, you will engage with visitors, guide them through tastings, and share your passion for our liqueurs and spirits. Your enthusiasm will help create memorable experiences, foster customer loyalty, and promote our brand's story. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love for craft spirits, cocktails, and hospitality in an engaging & fast paced environment. Looking for coverage on Fridays (10:45am - 7:15pm) and potentially Thursdays (10:45am-7:15pm). Hours may be flexible for the right candidate! Responsibilities Greet guests in a friendly & professional manner upon arrival and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit Conduct tastings by pouring spirit samples and explaining flavor profiles, production methods, and pairing suggestions Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room Merchandising - restocking, inventory Handle POS transactions accurately using Square POS, including cash handling and receipts Requirements Retail experience preferred Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred; bartending/tasting room experience is a plus Familiarity with POS systems preferred (Square) Ability to lift 40lbs (carrying cases of liquor up/down stairs) Strong customer service skills with an energetic and positive attitude Experience in sales or upselling techniques to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills; ability to educate guests about spirits, cocktails and related recipes/pairings Join us in creating an inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy exceptional spirits paired with memorable moments.
