Job Description

At Bella's Voice, we're more than just a thrift store - we're a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting animal welfare through every item donated and sold. As a Donation Attendant , you'll play an essential role in ensuring our donation operations run smoothly, helping to sort, manage, and process incoming items while providing excellent service to our donors. Key Responsibilities Donation Management:
Open and close the donation area at the start and end of each day. Assist donors in unloading their donations and provide friendly, polite service. Monitor items against the store's "Do Not Accept" list and politely decline unacceptable items. Coordinate with a supervisor to inspect furniture donations for quality and ensure there is available space in the store. Provide tax receipts to donors. Perform preliminary sorting of donations to facilitate processing.
Property Maintenance:
Conduct light property maintenance, including trash pickup around the store's exterior. Regularly take out the trash in the back room and operate the trash compactor.
Truck Operations:
Load and unload box trucks containing recycling or garbage.
Backroom Support:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace to ensure efficient operations. Assist other backroom staff in downtime; additional sorting, organizing, hanging/tagging
Requirements:
Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multitask and manage downtime effectively Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move up to 40 lbs Basic understanding of safety protocols and equipment operation (e.g., trash compactor)
Job Specifications Job Type:
Full Time (32 - 40 hours per week)
Schedule:
8:45 am - 5:15 pm
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday Pay:
$17.50 per hour Raise opportunity at 3 months, 6 months, and annually
