Quality Control Lead Job Type:
Full-Time About GoFresh GoFresh is a leading food distribution company serving restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and other foodservice customers throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. We specialize in delivering high-quality fresh produce, meat, dairy, and other perishable products while maintaining exceptional service standards. We're looking for a Quality Control Lead who is passionate about food quality, food safety, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow with a company. Position Summary The Quality Control Lead is responsible for inspecting inbound products to ensure they meet GoFresh's quality standards before entering inventory. This position works closely with Purchasing, Operations, Inventory, and warehouse staff to identify quality issues, reduce shrink, maintain food safety compliance, and improve overall product quality throughout the supply chain. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to improving processes. Key Responsibilities Perform quality inspections on all inbound produce, meat, dairy, and other perishable products. Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns to internal teams and suppliers. Oversee product repacks and ensure quality standards are maintained. Track, investigate, and help reduce product shrink and spoilage. Assist Purchasing by documenting supplier performance and maintaining supplier quality scorecards. Prepare for and assist with third-party food safety audits. Support internal food safety training and ensure company policies are followed. Track and report quality KPIs and identify trends. Partner with the Inventory Lead to ensure proper product rotation and inventory quality. Recommend and implement process improvements that improve quality, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency. Perform other quality assurance duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments. Preferred College coursework or degree. Previous experience in quality control, food safety, warehouse receiving, food distribution, restaurant back-of-house operations, grocery produce, agriculture, or a related field. Knowledge of produce quality standards, food handling practices, or HACCP principles.
Compensation & Benefits Starting Salary:
