Job Description

Job Overview The Environmental Technician is an entry-level field position responsible for assisting with wetland restoration, invasive plant removal, erosion control, and aquatic plant nursery operations. This is a hands-on outdoor job for individuals who enjoy physical work, working as part of a team, and being outdoors. No environmental experience is required, we provide on the job training for the right candidate. Primary Responsibilities Learn to identify common invasive and native plants found in project areas. Remove invasive vegetation by hand and with hand-held power equipment. Work in wetlands, including walking and wading through water, mud, and dense vegetation. Assist with herbicide applications under the direction of certified personnel. Plant and maintain native vegetation for restoration projects. Assist with erosion control installation, including silt fence, erosion matting, and shoreline stabilization materials. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and effectively. Load, unload, and transport plants, materials, tools, and equipment. Assist with aquatic plant nursery operations, including planting, watering, weeding, and general maintenance. Clean, maintain, and organize company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment. Follow all company safety procedures and job site requirements. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and maintain a strong work ethic throughout the workday. What We're Looking For Dependable and punctual. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work well with a team. Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, water, mud, and uneven terrain. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Valid driver's license required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk long distances on uneven terrain. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and perform manual labor for extended periods. Comfortable standing and wading in water and mud for portions of the workday.
