A Forest or Conservation Technician works with foresters and conservation scientists to help maintain forests and natural areas. Tracks data on water, soil, disease and insect damage in forest areas; tracks wildlife and maintain trails or campsites; monitors timber and logging activity; patrols and assists with forest fire prevention measures; provides information to the public on forest or natural areas conservation .

Position Description:
This is a paid, seasonal position, expected to last from August to early November . The Land Stewardship Technician will assist the Natural Resources Manager in daily land management routine including but not limited to. v Invasive plant management - removal, treatment, etc. v Natural landscape management including native plant restoration and wetland related projects v Trail creation and maintenance v Weeding, mulching, mowing using hand and gas-powered equipment (weedwhacker, backpack blower, etc..) v Pruning, trimming, reforestation management, wood cutting and splitting v General repair of trail signs and features, basic carpentry as needed Past experience in conservation park land management, trail work, or landscaping preferred Plant Identification skills preferred Able to perform duties while standing, sitting, bending, lifting Comfortable working in potentially unpleasant conditions (thorny plants, biting insects, humid summer days) Able to lift/carry 50 lbs Enthusiasm for working outside at all time of the year Able to work with a diverse group of people • 18+ years old Monday-Thursday, 32 hours a week, 7:00AM-3:00PM To apply: Please send your resume, cover letter and three references to HR@ExploreNature.
