Responsibilities Conduct landscape maintenance and groundskeeping activities using hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and other equipment to ensure healthy and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. Perform ecological restoration tasks such as invasive plant management, native plant installation, and habitat enhancement projects. Manage tree care operations including trimming, pruning, climbing, and safe removal using appropriate climbing gear and chainsaws. Apply pesticides and herbicides following strict safety protocols to control pests and invasive species effectively. Operate GPS devices and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for accurate data collection, site mapping, and resource management documentation. Drive commercial vehicles in rural or remote areas to transport crew members, equipment, or materials safely while adhering to all driving regulations. Maintain equipment through routine inspections and repairs to ensure safe operation during outdoor work activities. Collect data related to natural resources, vegetation health, or restoration progress for reporting purposes. Follow safety protocols diligently during all tasks to prevent accidents and ensure personal and team safety in outdoor environments. Qualifications Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or ecological restoration is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of tree care practices including trimming, climbing techniques, and chainsaw operation. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and GIS technology for field data collection is advantageous. Construction experience or working with heavy machinery such as power tools is a plus. Ability to identify native plants versus invasive species through plant identification skills. Experience with pesticide management and application procedures following safety standards. Strong outdoor work ethic with the physical ability for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking on uneven terrain. Valid driver's license with experience driving in rural or remote areas; commercial driving certification is a bonus. Knowledge of natural resource management principles including forest management or ecological restoration practices. Commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times during outdoor activities involving climbing, chainsaws, or other potentially hazardous equipment.
