Job Summary Join our team as a District Conservation Technician and become a vital part of natural resource stewardship! Your expertise will help protect and enhance our natural landscapes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while promoting sustainable land management practices. Duties Collect and analyze data related to natural resources, invasive plant species, and ecological conditions to support project planning and implementation. Assist with environmental permitting processes by preparing technical reports, documenting compliance activities, and ensuring adherence to environmental laws. Utilize GIS tools to create accurate maps, document field observations, and support spatial analysis for land management decisions. Participate in outdoor work activities including field surveys, wetland delineation, habitat assessments, and invasive plant management under various environmental conditions. Collaborate with project teams to manage multiple conservation initiatives efficiently while maintaining detailed records of data collection efforts. Experience Proven outdoor work experience in natural resource management, forestry, farming or ecological restoration projects. Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS), mapping tools, GPS navigation devices, and Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis and report writing. Demonstrated ability to perform field surveys accurately while adhering to safety protocols in diverse outdoor environments. Excellent research skills coupled with the ability to analyze complex data sets for informed decision-making. Effective technical report writing skills to document findings clearly for stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
