Job Summary We are seeking a Forestry Technician to support the Client's forestry and vegetation management activities across its service territory. This is a field-focused role involving timber assessment, forestry data collection, timber valuation, GIS/GPS data collection, and oversight of timber and brush removal activities. The position requires extensive travel and overnight field assignments. Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze forestry data including tree diameter, height, volume, defects, disease, and timber-related costs. Perform timber cruising, valuation, log scaling, and forest management activities. Conduct field inspections and oversee timber and brush removal activities. Identify trees for harvest and assist with timber valuation and marketing. Use GPS, GIS, ArcGIS Online, mobile data-collection applications, and forestry measurement equipment. Prepare timber appraisals, scopes of work, statements of work, and technical specifications. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Track project costs and maintain accurate forestry records and documentation. Support forestry projects throughout the Client's service territory. Qualifications 6 years of relevant experience with an applicable Bachelor's degree; 8 years with an applicable Associate's degree; or 10 years without an applicable degree. Experience in forestry, forestry production, natural resources, or related fields. Experience with timber cruising, valuation, log scaling, and timber harvest/marketing. Experience using GPS/GIS and electronic field data-collection systems. Familiarity with forestry measurement tools such as Relascopes, laser rangefinders/hypsometers, GPS, and related equipment. Experience with land information systems/PLSS and real-property concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor field work and travel extensively.

Up to 75% throughout the Client's service territory Primarily field-based, with limited office/telework opportunities. Work may involve steep/uneven terrain, thick brush, snow, logging equipment, heavy equipment, and other outdoor hazards.
Pay:
$50.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
