Approximately 10-hour shifts; overtime and schedule flexibility may be required based on project needs About Allied Allied is an established drilling and geothermal contractor providing commercial and residential drilling, geothermal installation, and related field services. Our teams work on projects throughout the region with a strong focus on safety, quality, accurate documentation, and dependable project execution. We are seeking a reliable and safety-minded Geothermal Loop Testing Technician / Field Laborer to support our geothermal operations in the Madison and Verona, Wisconsin area. Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting with geothermal loop testing, monitoring testing equipment, taking accurate readings, and documenting all test results. The employee will also operate a skid steer and assist with general field and site-support activities. This is a physically active, outdoor position. Candidates must be comfortable standing and walking for approximately 10 hours per shift and working in changing weather and jobsite conditions. Key Responsibilities Assist with geothermal loop testing activities in accordance with project requirements and supervisor instructions. Monitor testing equipment and take accurate pressure, flow, temperature, or other required readings. Clearly and accurately document all readings, test results, times, locations, and related project information. Immediately report unusual readings, equipment issues, leaks, or testing concerns to the project supervisor. Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently to move materials, equipment, soil, and other jobsite items. Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with setting up, monitoring, and breaking down loop-testing equipment. Maintain organized testing records, field logs, and other required documentation. Support material handling, site organization, cleanup, and other general field duties. Follow all Company, project, and OSHA safety requirements. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and project representatives. Perform additional field and project-support responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Previous experience safely operating a skid steer. Ability to read gauges, meters, and testing equipment accurately. Ability to record readings and complete written documentation clearly and correctly. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow step-by-step instructions. Ability to stand and walk for approximately 10 hours per shift. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud, and other changing jobsite conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Dependable transportation and consistent attendance. Ability to work independently while remaining in communication with the project team. Commitment to following established safety procedures. Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings. Preferred Qualifications Previous geothermal, drilling, construction, utility, mechanical, or equipment-operation experience. Experience performing pressure tests, flow tests, system testing, or other field measurements. Experience completing construction field reports, equipment logs, or test documentation. OSHA 10 certification or other applicable safety training. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position is performed primarily outdoors on active construction and geothermal project sites. The employee must be able to remain on their feet for approximately 10 hours per day, frequently walk over uneven ground, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and handle equipment and materials.
