PARKS AND FOREST TECHNICIAN

Price County Price County is accepting applications for the position of Parks and Forest Technician in the Forestry and Parks Department. This position is responsible for pre and post season parks maintenance and inspection including buildings, grounds, beach, fishing piers, boat docks, playground equipment, dump station, and Timm's Hill tower maintenance, wildlife and recreational trails maintenance and inspection, vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance, and any other duties as assigned. Position may oversee subordinate personnel including but not limited to, LTE's and prison crew. The position functions under the direction of the Forest and Parks Administrator but can exercise independent judgment and discretion in making decisions while in the field. This is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position with a starting hourly wage of $22.18 (Grade 5) and full benefit package. Minimum Qualifications for this position are: High School Diploma or GED Comfortable with the operation of dozer, heavy trucks, tractor, welders, torches, mowers, and a variety of power hand tools. Able to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other departmental employees, other county departments, clubs, and organizations with contractual relationships with the Forestry Department and the general public. Must have a valid state of Wisconsin issued driver's license and class A CDL or ability to obtain the CDL within six (6) months of employment. The selection process for this position may include an employment history evaluation, a personal interview, a Department of Justice criminal background check, and a pre-employment physical, including a drug screening.
