Job Description
Handyperson / Companion Wanted - Kendall County Full-time, year-round position available for a reliable and versatile handyperson to assist with property maintenance while also providing support and companionship to a household Veteran experiencing progressive memory loss. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working both indoors and outdoors, and making a meaningful, day-to-day difference in someone's life.
Responsibilities include:
- General repairs, painting, and light demolition
- Outdoor work, native gardening, and landscaping
- Monitoring and reporting maintenance needs
- Caring for household cats and feeding birds
- Providing companionship, reminders, and transportation
Schedule:
- Full-time, includes Saturdays (spring-fall)
- Some evenings/weekends as needed (overtime)
Qualifications:
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and personable
- Comfortable with both hands-on work and people support
- Valid driver's license and transportation preferred
