Day Shift Monday- Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm 16% Night Shift Premium Available Monday
- Thursday 5:00 pm
- 5:30 am PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered immediately upon employment, 401(k) after 6 months.
Overview:
As a Sandblaster forMerrill:
A Keel Midwest, you will be responsible for preparing various surfaces for paint by using sandblasting techniques to remove rust and mill scale from metal alloys. On the job training will be provided as needed.Job Functions:
Use of industrial sandblasting equipment. Demonstrate physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tasks. Will follow verbal and written instructions and be able to communicate information to the next shift. Will clean and maintain the work area in order to provide a safe and organized work environment. Cleans and maintains tools and sandblasting equipment.Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.Work Environment:
Industrial paint facility within a welding/fabrication shop floor, with fumes from welding and risk of eye flash. Paint department also has exposure to fumes from paints, thinners, and cleaners, so appropriate masks, eye protection, and ear protection are required. Will be required to wear an air-supplied hood. Exposure to debris/particulates, moving equipment, and high temperatures is frequent, and there is risk of sustain high temperatures depending on weather conditions. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Must show good reading comprehension skills to follow written instructions. Requires good verbal communication skills. Must be mechanically inclined to operate and maintain equipment. Ideal candidates are industrious and have good attention to detail.EEO STATEMENT KEEL
