Food Program Coordinator/CACFP and Float Teacher Kid's Culture Childcare & Learning Center is looking for an organized, dependable, and flexible Food Program Coordinator and Float Teacher. This position will oversee our Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) while also providing classroom support throughout the center as needed. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with center directors, teachers, kitchen staff, families, vendors, and children of all ages. This person must be highly organized, able to meet deadlines, and willing to step into different classrooms to support ratios, cover staff breaks, and help provide a safe and positive environment for our children.

CACFP and Food Program Responsibilities:

Plan and review menus to ensure meals and snacks meet current CACFP meal-pattern requirements. Ensure appropriate food components and portion sizes are provided for each age group. Maintain menus, attendance records, enrollment information, meal counts, receipts, invoices, training records, and other required CACFP documentation. Ensure staff record accurate meal and snack counts at the time meals are served. Review meal counts and compare them with enrollment and daily attendance records. Prepare and submit accurate monthly CACFP reimbursement claims. Maintain organized and audit-ready CACFP files. Order food and supplies while monitoring inventory, food costs, substitutions, and waste. Confirm that purchased foods are creditable under CACFP guidelines. Coordinate infant feeding records, food allergies, medical meal accommodations, and approved substitutions. Monitor food storage, sanitation, temperature control, receiving, preparation, and cleaning procedures. Train staff on CACFP meal patterns, portion sizes, meal counts, recordkeeping, civil rights, and food-safety requirements. Conduct routine reviews of classrooms, kitchens, menus, and CACFP records. Correct documentation or compliance concerns and follow through until they are resolved. Communicate professionally with staff and families regarding menus, allergies, infant feeding, and required food-program forms. Remain current on CACFP regulations and guidance from the New Hampshire Department of Education.

Float Teacher Responsibilities:

Provide classroom coverage throughout the center based on daily staffing needs. Cover teacher breaks, lunches, planning time, and staff absences. Help maintain required teacher-to-child ratios at all times. Work with children of various ages, from infants through preschool. Follow classroom schedules, lesson plans, routines, and Kid's Culture policies. Supervise and actively engage with children during learning activities, meals, outdoor play, rest time, and transitions. Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, bottle preparation, and other age-appropriate care routines. Support teachers with classroom organization, cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing materials. Build positive and caring relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Observe children closely and immediately report any health, safety, behavioral, or developmental concerns to the classroom teacher or center director. Complete incident reports, daily communication, and other required classroom documentation. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet applicable New Hampshire childcare licensing requirements for the position. Previous childcare, food-service, administrative, nutrition, or compliance experience preferred. Previous CACFP experience is strongly preferred. Comfortable working with children of all ages and moving between classrooms as needed. Strong organizational, mathematical, computer, and recordkeeping skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet monthly deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally and train staff members. Ability to maintain confidential child and family information. Food-handler or food-protection-manager certification preferred and may be required based on assigned responsibilities. Must successfully complete all required background checks, health requirements, and mandatory childcare training.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move throughout classrooms, kitchens, storage areas, offices, and outdoor play spaces. Ability to sit on the floor, stand, bend, reach, kneel, and regularly move between activities. Ability to safely lift and carry children, food, or supply containers weighing up to 30 pounds, with reasonable accommodation when applicable.
