Job:
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Environmental Science Professor Mike He is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Health at Barnard College, a premier liberal arts college in Manhattan affiliated with Columbia University. Reporting to Dr. He as Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow is responsible for conducting research in environmental epidemiology and exposure assessment, specifically on the effects of environmental mixtures on immunological outcomes in children. Duties include manuscript preparation and data analysis on all aims of the project. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Fellow will serve as a teaching assistant and assist with the preparation of new grant applications.

Professor Mike He is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Health at Barnard College, a premier liberal arts college in Manhattan affiliated with Columbia University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Construct air pollution and meteorological data prediction models using machine-learning based methods Conduct epidemiologic analyses studying associations of environmental mixtures on immune-based outcomes in children Train on and implement advanced statistical methods in environmental health Assist with teaching courses at Barnard, including serving as Teaching Assistant and Guest Lecturers Prepare and lead the write-up of manuscripts associated with the conducted research Mentor undergraduate and graduate-level research assistants Assist with the preparation of new grant applications Direct supervision of fairly routine work following standard practices or policies. This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and qualifications of this position. This is a grant-funded position for one year with the possibility of renewal.
Salary:
$72,000
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Environmental Health (or related field) Advanced mastery of statistical programming in R/Python (or equivalent) Strong data analysis/data management skills Excellent written communication skills and experience with manuscript/grant writing Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in machine-learning based prediction modeling Background in statistics, computer science, and/or immunology a plus
