Description:
Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!
Work Location:
In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Seasonal Position:
This role is available for the winter season.
Pay:
$18-$20 per hour based on experience
Anticipated Start Dates:
The Beginning of December Schedule:
Will require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Conditions:
Must be able to get to a from work in all weather conditions. This is an indoor position.
Overview of Position:
A Rental Technician is responsible for properly fitting guests with equipment based on their individual needs. The rental department frequently experiences high volume situations, and a technician must make the most of their interaction with our guests while maintaining the efficiency of our operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Properly fit guests with various equipment including skis, boots, poles, snowboards and helmets. Mount skis and adjust bindings. Maintain and repair rental equipment. Test bindings for proper torque release. Document test results and maintenance records. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain knowledge of the ski area, programs, events, daily snow conditions and any other information that aids in your communication with our guests. Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be a minimum age of 18. Basic knowledge and experience with maintaining ski and/or snowboard equipment. Previous customer service experience preferred. Basic computer skills. Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner. Must be comfortable working in stressful, noisy and crowded environments. Must be reliable, solution-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must pass binding certification exam for each binding used in the Rental Shop prior to starting work.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours. Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
