The CAS team is global, diverse, endlessly curious and strives to make scientific insights accessible to innovators worldwide. CAS is currently seeking Cheminformatics Scientist Interns for Summer 2027 in the Content Operations Division. This position would be in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The Internship will run May 17th, 2027- August 6th, 2027.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced intern to join our cross-functional team, supporting the analysis of chemical information and the development of an internal curation platform. A candidate with a strong background in cheminformatics (chemistry + programming) is highly desired.

Job Accountabilities:

Support back-end and front-end development efforts.

Maintain detailed records of various activities and contribute to the documentation of methodologies and findings.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including chemists, biologists, and data scientists, to support various projects.

Assist with developing services and systems within an Agile Development team.

Collaborate with local and global teammates and product owners grooming backlogs for upcoming development sprints.

Connect across the organization through the Summer Intern Program to build influential working relationships, preparing your career for tomorrow.

Stay abreast of the latest trends through individual and team training opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Eagerness to explore and responsibly adopt emerging AI technologies to improve productivity, accelerate development cycles, enhance data quality, and drive innovation in cheminformatics and software development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment as well as independently
