Work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning in all content areas. The Intervention Specialist will focus on individual and group instruction utilizing research-based effective instructional practices. In order to fulfill these expectations, the Intervention Specialist will provide personalized support based on the goals and identified needs of students derived from multiple points of data.Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in related field required, master's degree preferred. Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out-of-state appropriate for position. ESL certification is strongly preferred. 30 hour GT Training strongly preferred. Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.Special Knowledge/Skills:
Expertise in differentiating language arts and math instruction. Proficiency with technology equipment and programs. Working knowledge of all elementary TEKS and STAAR preparations. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior. Willingness to learn, acquire, and apply new skills. Experience facilitating professional learning for adults.Experience:
Minimum three (3) years successful teaching experience. 5+ years successful teaching experience strongly preferred.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Strategies:
Assist teachers with the development of instructional routines and procedures, model lessons, help with planning, assist with administration of assessments (Coaching Activities). Facilitate the implementation of differentiated lessons and blended learning in language arts and/or math. Provide intervention for students who are: struggling, ELL, and in need of acceleration. Model best practice instructional strategies in whole and small groups. Assist with grade level planning and data conversations.Communication:
Meet regularly with grade levels, intervention specialists, and administrators. Communicate with teachers and parents of students who are receiving regular intervention. Track data by student, by skill for students receiving intervention on a consistent basis and monitor progress toward meeting goals. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, administrators, and teachers. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.Other:
