Blaster AMP United - 3.2 Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Compliance with security regulations Safety standard operating procedures Full Job Description The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish. Responsibilities and Duties Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built - up material from surfaces. Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment. Load and unload the blast cabinet. Assist with painting or coating as needed. Apply and remove non - skid materials as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Previous sandblasting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a current C-7 certification Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus. Familiarity with power tools Requirements Adapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with change and delays. Follows rules and sets a good example by consistently adhering to appropriate work guidelines; follows organizational plans and guidelines so that objectives can be accomplished. Demonstrates a basic understanding of all job knowledge skills, procedures and processes. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises.
