JOB TITLE CREW FOREMAN DEPARTMENT WATER DEPARTMENT STATUS
Full-time Part-time Temporary/Seasonal (Occasional Overtime May be Required)
PAY GRADE
Grade C9, Step TBD (based on skills/experience)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The employee prepares and supervises work for all crew. Monitors the work of the crew and ensures each task is completed according to specifications. Plans long- term and short-term equipment and personnel needs and makes recommendations. Maintains accurate records of work activities. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
Knowledge of basic plumbing and pipefitting methods. Knowledge of water system installation, repair, and management. Ability to supervise the work of others. Reading skills to comprehend specifications, directives, rules, and procedures. Writing skills to complete work-related records, forms, and reports. Must possess a valid Class A CDL license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire and have a driving record that meets standards set by the county's insurance carrier. Work may require considerable and strenuous physical exertion. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and interact with the public in a pleasant and effective manner. Ability to work non-standard hours, overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary This is a "safety-sensitive" position. Successful candidate must pass a pre- employment drug test and will be subject to random unannounced drug testing throughout employment with the County in a "safety-sensitive" position.
EDUCATION
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six (6) to eight (8) years of work-related experience preferred; however, any combination of education and work experience which provides the qualifications listed below will be considered.
