Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of planning for and executing food concessions, Game Time at the Grounds Café, and gate operations of Cabot Parks and Recreation including the development of an overall vision, strategy, and business plan with a focus on sustainability, affordability, and to generate revenue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Develops and implements short and long-range plans for concessions and cafe; evaluates and makes recommendations for current and new concession projects. 2) Operates a point-of-sale cash register and makes cash register programming changes. 3) Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure effective tracking and reporting of records. 4) Maintains records of receipts and disbursements of payments for contractual employees; performs necessary bookkeeping. 5) Manages the operations of all concessions including staffing, timekeeping and disciplinary matters. 6) Coordinates on site catered functions; meets with potential vendors to determine associated costs of the food. 7) Answers questions, provides information, and responds to all inquiries regarding assigned event and special project activities. 8) Prepare financial/budget reports for concession and gate operations. 9) Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) Experience in food service or concession sales. Supervisory experience in related field preferred. 2) A valid Driver's License. 3) CPR Certified. 4) Servsafe Certified or Food Safety Certificate.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Needed:
1) Ability to understand, follow, and carry out oral and written instructions. 2) Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends, some holidays, and special events. 3) Ability to work unsupervised. 4) Ability to effectively communicate in writing. 5) Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid Conclusions. 6) Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to- person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. 7) Ability to effectively present information to management and/or commission members. 8) Ability to monitor the sales of products and make recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the operation. 9) Knowledge in bookkeeping principles and practices. 10) Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and techniques. 11) Knowledge of food inventory, determining needs, and ordering supplies for defined time periods.
