Job Description

TSG is looking for a Lead/Foreman to join our landscaping team at Riverside National Cemetery. This position supports and works with the grounds maintenance team to perform turf and grounds maintenance and improvement services for the cemetery's esteemed grounds to honor those who have served our nation.

Schedule:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Monday through Friday• - Federal holidays off unless otherwise required by the Dept of Veteran's Affairs. •Work occurs regardless of weather conditions except in extreme or unsafe circumstances. Overview of Responsibilities Coordinate and assign work areas based on the daily interment schedule to ensure maintenance work does not cause any burial, committal service, ceremony, funeral procession or visitation to be delayed, altered, or otherwise impacted in such a way that the dignity, security, or safety of the event or visit is compromised. Run daily pre-work equipment and site walkthroughs. Assign crew members within the zone rotation and confirm section-by-section compliance before sign-off. Maintain daily self-inspection logs and report deficiencies to the Site Manager same-day. Train new crew members on National Shrine Standard conduct around headstones and markers. Communicate daily with the Manager during burial section grooming to confirm off-limit areas, which will vary depending on the event. Assist the grounds maintenance team with turf and grass maintenance, trash and debris removal, and structure cleaning tasks as required Maintain irrigation system services, pond services, and drainage system maintenance Customer Service Responsibilities & Cemetery Conduct Assist cemetery visitor inquiries to the best of your ability. Exercise courtesy and respect at all times while within the cemetery. Maintain awareness of the grounds where the work is performed, ensuring the utmost care and respect is given to headstones and flat grave markers. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent walking, standing, bending, and working on uneven terrain Work is performed outdoors and year-round in varying weather conditions, with exposure to dust, pollen, insects, and noise. Requires good vision, hearing, and the ability to maintain landscaped and memorial areas.
Requirements:
A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a direct supervisor of commercial Landscape Maintenance/Construction operation (previous cemetery experience is a plus) Completing a background check Valid Driver's License - To operate company vehicles and machinery The ability to reliably commute to the work site The ability to communicate effectively with company stakeholders, VA Cemetery representatives, direct reports, and cemetery visitors in English (verbal and written) Interested candidates, please submit resumes showcasing relevant experience.
