Job Description
We are looking for a Tree Removal Foreman to oversee and coordinate tree removal projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on field position responsible for managing tree removal subcontractors, leading a small ground crew, coordinating with project managers, communicating with customers and the public, and ensuring each removal is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally . The ideal candidate is an experienced tree-care professional who is comfortable taking charge of a job site, communicating with multiple parties, and stepping in wherever needed to keep the project moving. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate tree removal subcontractors on active job sites. Lead a small company crew and assign daily tasks. Ensure tree removals are performed safely and according to project requirements. Perform and oversee traffic control , including maintaining safe work zones around vehicles, pedestrians, and the public. Communicate with customers, property owners, neighbors, and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner. Explain the work being performed and address questions or concerns at the job site. Coordinate closely with Project Managers regarding schedules, job-site conditions, changes, and project completion. Monitor subcontractor performance, work quality, productivity, and adherence to safety requirements. Ensure proper protection of homes, vehicles, landscaping, sidewalks, roads, and other property. Conduct ongoing job-site safety checks and correct unsafe conditions immediately. Coordinate final site cleanup , including removal of branches, logs, debris, and other materials. Inspect completed work to ensure the job meets company and customer expectations before leaving the site. Take photos and provide updates to Project Managers as required. Help resolve unexpected job-site issues and communicate changes promptly. Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively to customers and the public. Operate equipment and assist with ground operations when necessary. Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and secured. Qualifications Previous experience in tree removal, tree care, landscaping, construction, or a related field . Experience leading crews or managing subcontractors preferred. Strong understanding of tree-removal hazards and job-site safety. Ability to confidently manage a job site and make decisions independently. Good communication and customer-service skills. Comfortable interacting with the public and handling difficult or unexpected situations professionally. Ability to coordinate traffic control and maintain safe work zones. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks when needed. Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. OSHA, traffic-control, arborist, or other relevant certifications are a plus. The Right Candidate The right person for this position is a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the job site . You don't have to be the person climbing every tree, but you need to understand tree removal well enough to manage the people doing the work, recognize hazards, and make sure the operation is safe. You will be the face of the company in the field , so professionalism, communication, and good judgment are extremely important. Traffic and pedestrians are properly controlled. Customers and the public are treated professionally. Project Managers receive clear and timely updates. Cleanup is completed thoroughly. Tree removals are completed safely, efficiently, and according to the scope of work. Customers are satisfied with the finished project.
