Overview We are seeking an energetic and experienced Operations Manager specialized in Commercial Landscaping to work alongside the owner and take charge of client accounts, estimating, and project delivery. You'll have ownership over how jobs are sold, priced, and run. The right person can grow into a general manager role. We are looking for a candidate to foster a motivated workforce dedicated to transforming outdoor spaces into vibrant, sustainable environments. We are growing an installation division to compliment our maintenance work for major municipal and private clients across the Bay Area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence project success from planning through execution while maintaining safety standards and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Manage key client relationships, including property managers, owners, and public agencies Lead the proposal process: gather input from crew leads and subs, build the estimate, and put together the final proposal Own pricing and quoting in Jobber software Run projects from award to closeout: scheduling, crews, subs, budget, and change orders Supervise crew leads and set priorities for the field Source plants, materials, and equipment, and negotiate with vendors Manage our nursery and plant inventory

Oversee HR:

hiring, onboarding, timekeeping, employee records, and certified payroll on public jobs Track job costs and margins, and report to the owner Help improve how we operate: systems, processes, and standards Skills 5-7+ years in commercial landscape, construction, or property maintenance, including at least 3 years managing projects or accounts Strong plant knowledge, especially Bay Area plant material A track record of estimating and winning work Experience supervising crews or field leads Comfortable with Jobber or similar software plus Claude/AI and Excel Clear writer with good judgment, organized, and able to handle several jobs at once Valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record Spanish is a plus Experience with public agencies, prevailing wage, or HR is a plus Landscape contractor (C-27) license or certifications (CLT, ISA, QAL) are a plus Send your resume and a short note about a project or account you managed: the scope, the budget, and how it turned out.
