Cedars first opened its doors in 1919, and for more than a century our person-centered programs and services have supported tens of hundreds of clients in living creative, productive, joyous and healthy lives. Cedars is looking to hire a full-time Gardening Crew Supervisor in our TAC program. In this role, you will work alongside a small crew of adults with developmental disabilities providing gardening and landscaping services throughout Marin County. You will use your gardening, landscaping, leadership, and coaching skills to help participants build independence, develop job skills, and contribute to meaningful work in the community. Working closely with the TAC Director and Assistant Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Garden Crew, coordinate gardening projects and services, maintain equipment and supplies, and provide guidance and training to staff and participants. You will also support the Hands and Earth Co-op, helping participants develop leadership skills, participate in decision-making, and contribute to the success of the program. You will help each participant work as independently as possible and to their full potential, offering individualized support as needed while fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment. This position will require some degree of caregiving, to the extent that a participant requires. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. The rate of pay is $30 per hour. For full-time permanent employees, a hiring bonus of up to $1,000 will be distributed over the course of the first year of employment. The ability to consistently demonstrate patience and compassion. Experience in gardening, landscaping, and yard maintenance. Experience leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of people. Ability to teach, coach, and support participants in developing skills that promote productive and independent lives. Ability to manage a crew of gardeners and work collaboratively with a team of leaders. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Willingness to pitch in when and where needed. Flexibility to perform a variety of job assignments. Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test and meet the physical requirements of the position. Valid California driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a willingness to drive a Cedars passenger van. CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both. Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ and maintain all required clearances. An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor is a plus.
