We are looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman to join our team. This is a full-time, year-round position for an experienced landscape professional who can lead crews, manage landscape installation projects, and work independently in the field. Winter work includes snow removal operations. Position Responsibilities Lead and supervise landscape crews on installation, enhancement, and seasonal maintenance projects. Read and interpret landscape plans, designs, drawings, and project scopes and accurately implement them in the field. Coordinate daily crew activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications. Perform and oversee landscape installations including: Trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and other plant material Sod, seed, mulch, rock, edging, and landscape beds Landscape renovations and property enhancements Removal and replacement of existing landscape materials Properly identify common trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, and other landscape plants and understand appropriate planting and care requirements. Determine proper plant placement, spacing, planting depth, and installation techniques. Identify field conditions that may require modifications to the original landscape plan and communicate concerns before proceeding. Understand irrigation systems as they relate to landscape installations. Modify existing irrigation systems as necessary to accommodate new landscape installations, including moving or adding heads, dripline, valves, and other components. Troubleshoot basic irrigation problems including coverage issues, leaks, broken components, pressure problems, and improperly functioning zones. Perform and supervise seasonal shrub pruning, including proper pruning techniques based on plant species, growth habits, and seasonal requirements. Lead and participate in spring and fall property cleanups, including removal of leaves, debris, dead plant material, ornamental grass cutbacks, and general landscape cleanup. Assist with occasional landscape maintenance duties as needed, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, bed maintenance, and general property upkeep. Calculate and organize materials needed for projects and communicate additional material or equipment needs. Operate landscape equipment and tools safely and properly. Train crew members on proper landscape installation and maintenance techniques, equipment use, safety procedures, and company standards. Monitor crew productivity and quality of work throughout each project. Maintain an organized and professional jobsite. Communicate project progress, issues, material needs, and changes with management. Participate in snow removal operations during the winter season, including plowing, shoveling, operating snow equipment, and supervising snow crews as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Previous professional landscape installation experience. Previous experience as a landscape foreman, crew leader, or similar supervisory position. Strong knowledge of landscape installation practices and procedures. Ability to read and implement landscape plans and designs. Strong knowledge of plant material and the ability to identify common landscape plant species. Knowledge of proper shrub pruning and seasonal landscape maintenance practices. Experience modifying and troubleshooting irrigation systems. Experience supervising, directing, and training landscape employees. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Ability to communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking employees. Ability to organize a crew and keep projects on schedule. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability and willingness to perform both landscape installation and maintenance work as operational needs require. Ability to safely operate common landscape tools and equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Participation in snow removal operations, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when weather events require. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience Commercial landscape and HOA experience. Irrigation repair and installation experience. Seasonal pruning and property cleanup experience. Skid steer, mini skid steer, trencher, or other equipment operating experience. Snowplow and snow removal equipment experience. Experience estimating material quantities and organizing materials for landscape projects. Position Details Full-time, year-round employment Landscape installation, enhancement, and seasonal maintenance work during the growing season. Snow removal work during the winter season. We are looking for someone who is not only an experienced landscaper, but also a strong field leader who can take a landscape design or project scope, understand what needs to be accomplished, organize a crew, troubleshoot issues in the field, and see the project through to completion. Experienced landscape professionals with strong leadership, irrigation, plant knowledge, pruning, and bilingual communication skills are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
