This position will manage an established portfolio of premier commercial landscape maintenance accounts. Approximately 90% of the properties are located within Palm Beach County, with additional accounts located throughout Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. A take-home company vehicle and fuel are provided, and travel throughout the assigned territory is part of the position. We are specifically seeking an experienced landscape professional with a proven background managing large commercial properties, high-rise residential and condominium properties, large-scale HOAs, and other high-expectation properties. This is not a traditional account-management-only position. At B & R Industries, our Account Managers have direct responsibility for both the client/account management side of the business and the day-to-day production and field operations necessary to service their portfolio . Larger landscape companies often divide these responsibilities between an Account Manager and a Production Manager. Because our Account Managers manage a more focused portfolio, we combine these responsibilities into one management position. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable meeting with a property manager or condominium board as they are managing crews, inspecting work, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment are ready for daily operations. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have direct commercial landscape maintenance management experience and the ability to independently manage client relationships, property quality, field operations, personnel, equipment, and overall account performance. Responsibilities Account & Client Management Manage an established portfolio of commercial landscape maintenance accounts, primarily within Palm Beach County. Serve as the primary point of contact for property managers, community managers, condominium and HOA boards, building management, ownership representatives, and other client contacts. Perform regular and detailed property inspections to ensure landscape quality and contract compliance. Proactively identify horticultural, irrigation, turf, tree, pest, disease, nutritional, drainage, and general maintenance concerns. Identify and address deficiencies before they become client complaints. Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through. Attend property walks, management meetings, condominium/HOA board meetings, and other client meetings as required. Develop recommendations and proposals for landscape enhancements, plant replacements, seasonal color, irrigation repairs, and property improvements. Coordinate enhancement work from proposal through completion. Protect and retain existing accounts while identifying appropriate opportunities for additional services and property improvements. Maintain accurate documentation of property conditions, client requests, proposals, and completed work. Production & Field Operations Take direct responsibility for the daily field operations required to properly service the assigned account portfolio. Direct and coordinate maintenance crews, crew leaders, irrigation personnel, enhancement teams, and subcontractors. Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, development, and management of field personnel. Develop and coordinate daily and weekly crew schedules to ensure properties are serviced efficiently and contractual requirements are met. Oversee crew deployment, morning startup, and end-of-day operational procedures. Regularly inspect crews in the field and hold crew leaders accountable for quality, productivity, safety, and completion of assigned work. Ensure crew leaders and field personnel are properly trained in landscape maintenance practices and understand B & R Industries' quality standards. Monitor labor and crew performance and make operational adjustments when necessary. Ensure contracted services are completed properly, efficiently, safely, and to B & R Industries' standards. Coordinate staffing, equipment, scheduling, and property-specific operational requirements. Fleet & Equipment Oversight The Account Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the vehicles and equipment assigned to their crews are properly maintained and operational.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor the condition and readiness of assigned trucks, trailers, mowers, and landscape equipment. Ensure routine equipment maintenance is being performed and documented. Ensure mower blades are maintained and sharpened as required. Ensure two-cycle equipment and other small equipment are operating properly. Ensure mower oil and other routine fluid levels are checked and maintained. Monitor tires and the general operating condition of trucks, trailers, mowers, and other field equipment. Identify mechanical or equipment problems early and coordinate repairs before they interfere with production. Hold crew leaders accountable for the proper care, cleanliness, and daily inspection of assigned vehicles and equipment. The Account Manager is not expected to personally perform major mechanical repairs but is expected to take ownership of equipment readiness and make sure problems are identified, reported, coordinated, and resolved. Required Experience & Qualifications Candidates must have direct commercial landscape maintenance management experience, preferably within the South Florida market. Experience managing the following types of properties is strongly preferred: Large commercial properties High-rise residential and condominium properties Large HOAs and master-planned communities Class A and other high-expectation properties Properties managed by professional property management companies Accounts requiring regular interaction with condominium/HOA boards, ownership groups, and senior property management Candidates must also possess: Strong knowledge of South Florida horticulture and landscape maintenance practices Ability to recognize plant, turf, pest, disease, nutritional, drainage, irrigation, and general landscape issues Demonstrated experience managing multiple landscape crews and field personnel Experience scheduling and coordinating landscape maintenance production Ability to train, direct, and hold crew leaders accountable for quality and productivity Working knowledge of commercial landscape equipment, routine maintenance requirements, and fleet/equipment readiness Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional appearance and strong client-service skills Ability to independently manage multiple properties, crews, priorities, and client expectations Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record Basic computer, email, smartphone, and reporting proficiency Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred or considered a plus: Florida Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) certification Landscape, pesticide, fertilizer applicator, or other relevant industry licenses and certifications Irrigation knowledge and experience Bilingual English/Spanish Experience with landscape enhancements, estimating, and proposal development ISA Certified Arborist What We're Looking For We are looking for a manager who takes ownership of the entire portfolio—not simply the client relationship. The successful candidate should know their properties, their clients, their crews, and their operation. They should recognize landscape deficiencies before a client points them out, know whether crews are performing to expectations, understand what needs to happen operationally the following day and week, and know whether the personnel and equipment necessary to accomplish that work are ready. This person must be able to move comfortably between client management and production management . One part of the day may involve walking a high-rise condominium with a property manager or meeting with an HOA board. Another may involve inspecting a maintenance crew, correcting a production issue, adjusting schedules, training a crew leader, or addressing an equipment problem. Our portfolio includes sophisticated commercial and residential properties where clients expect a high level of landscape quality, professionalism, communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Ultimately, the Account Manager is responsible for making sure those expectations are consistently met in the field.
