The Orchard Golf & Country Club located Clarkesville, GA is looking for a full time Golf Course Forman. Situated next to the Chattahoochee National Forest at the base of the Appalachian Mountains, The Orchard Golf & Country Club is nestled amid apple orchards, annual flowering trees, shrubs, and cool running mountain streams. The creeks that wind throughout the property sustained the working cattle farm and apple orchard it once was and are now home to deer and other wildlife. The Orchard Golf & Country Club features 18 holes of golf, a driving range, swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and is open six days per week. The Orchard & Futren Hospitality are Proud Recipients of the Cobb Chamber 2026-2027 Employer Excellence Award . The successful candidate will help oversee the care and presentation of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. This role also supports agronomic planning, staffing, renovation activities, grow-in, and reopening preparations. The Forman must be prepared to assume responsibility for maintenance operations in the Superintendent's absence. The Foreman's main responsibility is in directing, coordinating and supervising the maintenance crew and serving as the delegation and communication link between the superintendent and the crew. In addition, the Foreman must keep accurate records of weather and relate it to maintenance needs. The Forman must function as an active worker on such projects as fertilization, application of chemicals, construction and mechanics as well as take responsibility for purchasing and budgeting as needed.

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or a related field At least two years of progressive golf course maintenance experience Previous experience leading or supervising a maintenance crew Working knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, drainage, fertilizers, plant-protection products, and cultural practices Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license Commercial pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one Experience with golf course construction, renovation, grow-in, private-club operations, is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

The flexibility to works evenings, weekends and holidays is essential. The candidate must be determined to be fully qualified to operate a motor vehicle on company business.

Pay:

From $50,000.00 per year
