The Commercial Landscape Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, execution, and client satisfaction of a portfolio of commercial landscaping accounts (e.g., corporate campuses, retail centers, HOAs, medical buildings and municipal properties). This role requires a balance of hands-on field leadership, crew coordination, production scheduling, quality control, and proactive client communication. The ultimate goal is to ensure projects are completed safely, profitably, and to the highest aesthetic standards while driving customer retention and enhancement sales.
Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations & Production Management Crew Supervision:
Conduct regular site audits to ensure plant health, turf care, irrigation efficiency, and hardscape maintenance meet or exceed company standards.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety huddles and ensure all equipment (mowers, trailers, specialty tools) is inspected and maintained properly.
Project Execution:
Direct seasonal operations including spring/fall cleanups, turf management programs, snow removal operations (where applicable), and aesthetic landscape enhancements. 2.
Serve as the main point of contact for property managers and owners, building long-term trust through proactive updates.
Site Inspections:
Walk commercial properties regularly with clients to review the quality of work and discuss long-term property goals.
Issue Resolution:
Promptly address client feedback, property damage, or service gaps, ensuring swift corrective action. 3.
Financial Management & Business Growth Budgeting & P&L:
Manage labor hours, material costs, and equipment usage to ensure individual accounts stay within budget and meet target profit margins.
Enhancement Proposals:
Identify opportunities to improve properties (e.g., seasonal color rotations, drainage remediation, mulch, tree care, or turf renovation) and draft proposals for clients.
Contract Renewals:
Successfully renew existing commercial service agreements annually.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in commercial landscaping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Horticultural Knowledge:
Strong understanding of local plant materials, turf varieties, weed/pest identification, chemical application guidelines, and irrigation systems.
Leadership:
Proven ability to manage, train, motivate, and retain diverse field crews.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting proposals to high-profile corporate clients.
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency with and/or ability to learn landscape management software (e.g., LMN, QuickBooks), GPS tracking tools, and basic Microsoft Office suite for scheduling and budgeting.
Licenses:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory. Relevant state pesticide applicators licenses or landscape industry certifications (e.g., NALP, GCLP) are welcomed.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow). Ability to stand, walk on uneven terrain, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly during site inspections. Split environment between an office setting (planning, budgeting, client emails) and field locations.
