ABOUT THE ROLE

The Landscape Maintenance Foreman is a dual-role position responsible for leading a landscape maintenance crew in the field while safely operating and transporting company vehicles and equipment to and from job sites. You will be the point person on your crew — responsible for quality, efficiency, and keeping the team on track throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who has landscape maintenance experience, thrives in a leadership setting, and is ready to take ownership of their crew's performance.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday with early morning start times | Some Saturdays during peak season

Location:

Chicago, IL and surrounding service area

Crew Size:

You will lead a crew of 2-3 team members

• WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Safely operate company trucks and trailers to transport crews and equipment to and from job sites
• Lead and work alongside your crew on all aspects of landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and general cleanup
• Manage daily route schedules to ensure on-time, efficient service across all assigned accounts
• Inspect properties at the start and end of each visit to ensure quality meets company standards
• Operate and maintain mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscape equipment safely
• Perform basic equipment checks and report any maintenance needs to management promptly
• Communicate professionally with clients when on-site and address any service questions or concerns
• Train and hold crew members accountable to quality, safety, and company standards
• Complete daily job logs, time tracking, and required paperwork accurately
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies at all times

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of professional landscape maintenance experience
• Experience leading or supervising a crew in a field setting
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — ability to operate trucks and trailers required
• Strong knowledge of mowing, trimming, edging, and general landscape maintenance techniques
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage a full day route independently
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and clients

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience operating commercial zero-turn mowers and walk-behind equipment
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Familiarity with Chicago-area landscape standards and seasonal maintenance schedules
• Prior experience managing daily route logistics or scheduling

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  This is a physically demanding, fully outdoor role. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, operate equipment, and perform sustained physical work in all weather conditions typical of the Chicago area.
