A successful candidate for this position must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality support for Kendall County Forest Preserve District operations under the supervision of the District's Executive Director. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to: Supervise and schedule grounds and natural resources tasks Perform return maintenance on District buildings Perform grounds and natural resources activities with the grounds crew, including seasonal tasks Repair District parking lots and trails Participate in snow-removal Perform maintenance to District vehicles, machines and tools Maintain logs of repair and activity reports
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A preferred minimum of four years' experience with supervising grounds and/or building and amenity maintenance projects or similar role, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires knowledge of grounds maintenance tools and equipment use. Completion of all assigned equipment and natural areas management training. Experience in leading and coordinating volunteer-based work days and natural resource projects. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of office practices, principles of modern record keeping, and setup and prepare, create and organize files Certification in related trades preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain one within the first ninety (90) days of employment. A prescribed fire burn training certificate and S190 course completion or, in the alternative, successfully complete S190 coursework within the first ninety (90) days of employment. A valid Illinois Driver's License A valid Illinois Pesticide Applicator License or, in the alternative, obtain a valid Illinois Pesticide Operator's License within the first ninety (90) days of employment. All other training, certificates and registrations required for the specific duties performed. Class A or B CDL preferred.
Work Schedule:
Average hours: This position averages 37.5 to 40+ hours per week on an annual basis. This position is exempt and expected to work additional hours as needed.
