About the Role Hidden Valley Golf Club is hiring a Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of course maintenance, agronomy, and grounds operations. The Superintendent directs a team responsible for turf quality, irrigation, equipment reliability, and landscaping, ensuring the course consistently meets high playability and appearance standards. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving the daily golf experience for members and guests. What You'll Do
  • Plan and execute daily course maintenance programs, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pest management.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate all maintenance staff.
  • Monitor irrigation system performance and direct the watering crew.
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual maintenance budget.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Golf on course conditions and progress.
  • Coordinate with the club mechanic to maintain equipment, machinery, and vehicles in safe, reliable operating condition.
  • Oversee the landscaping crew's planting, pruning, and grounds upkeep.
  • Coordinate general maintenance staff on mowing, bunker care, and routine turf upkeep.
  • Supervise the watering crew on irrigation scheduling and water conservation.
  • Supervise seasonal laborers during peak season, including training and oversight. Experience Required What We're Looking For
  • Current state-issued pesticide/herbicide applicator license required at time of hire.
  • Degree or certification in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of golf course maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of turfgrass science, irrigation systems, and maintenance equipment.
  • Experience supervising and developing maintenance staff preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under changing conditions.
