Irrigation & Lighting Service Manager Position Overview:
The Irrigation & Lighting Service Manager is responsible for assisting and overseeing our residential irrigation and lighting teams in various facets, including but not limited to - overseeing and assisting field teams, CRM routing and work order execution, employee training and mentoring, independent service of clientele, facility organization and service readiness, parts inventory and ordering, safety advisor, and quality control to ensure client satisfaction. This is a year-round, full-time opportunity for a motivated and career minded individual looking to make a commitment with our growing and sustainable company in the irrigation and landscape industry.
Description of Responsibilities:
The Irrigation & Lighting Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Exemplify and promote a positive attitude and work ethic among yourself and the team as it relates to position, the mission statement, our core values, and company culture
  • Utilize CRM to review technicians' appointments, forecasted schedule, service routing and live location, verify workorder data entries, and client information
  • Direct and orchestrate teams each morning by outlining expectations, reviewing work orders, and loading/unloading all necessary parts, tools, equipment
  • Interact and manage field technicians to ensure client satisfactions, arrival times, answer questions, provide assistance, and follow-up repeatedly for daily success
  • Render practical assistance in the field as it relates to project planning, troubleshooting, quality control, job completion.
  • Service properties as determined by division manager; may be due to technical knowledge required, client status, geographic location, demands of business, etc.
  • Create, implement, and track key performance indicators (KPI) with a focus on gross profit margin, utilization rate, and technician efficiencies. Also report them to division manager and president when requested upon
  • Serve as Safety Coordinator to administer and oversee safety regulations, enforcement, and adherence by all employees. Prepare and lead weekly training meeting with relevant and topical information
  • Perform inventory counts and maintain records of facility and truck stock. Ensure adequate quantities are on hand for upcoming projects and projected sales
  • Coordinate with sales and account managers to aid in client meetings, estimate preparation, on-site inspections, upsell services, etc.
  • Organize facility and maintain cleanliness to increase workflow operations, plan for shifts in service demand, and prepare for seasonal fluctuations
  • Communicate with division manager and human resource manager to identify staffing needs, assist in hiring feedback, integrate employee, prepare daily schedules, and evaluate personnel performance
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring of veteran and rookie staff with the intent of nurturing individuals to grow their career as part of our organization and within the industry
Qualifications/Requirements:
The Irrigation & Lighting Manager should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Education and/or experience in landscape irrigation and/or landscape lighting; combination also acceptable; minimum two years, required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of landscape irrigation and landscape lighting; minimum two years, required
  • Blueprint reading and understanding; minimum one year, required
  • Valid Chauffeur License, in good standing, and clean driving record; required
  • Valid State of Michigan Department of Transportations (DOT Card); required
  • Availability to work full time Monday through Saturday, as scheduled and to be flexible as required by seasonal schedule and weather conditions; required
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run; required
  • Strong ability to multi-task, stay organized, and communicate effectively; required
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times; required
