Scott's Lawn Care (SLC) is looking for a motivated Gardening Foreman to join our team at our Maple Plain location. We provide comprehensive services to businesses and residents throughout the metro area, including lawn and snow maintenance. Our gardening division specializes in maintaining beautiful, healthy landscapes through expert plant care, garden enhancements, seasonal color installations, pruning, and weed management. We are looking for a knowledgeable leader who takes pride in creating and maintaining exceptional landscapes. We are especially interested in candidates with 2+ years of professional gardening or landscape maintenance experience and/or a degree in Horticulture or a related field. 00 per hour + Seasonal Bonus (based on experience and qualifications) Responsibilities Lead a crew of 2-3 team members performing garden maintenance and enhancement services. Plan, organize, and complete daily gardening routes efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Perform and oversee planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and small trees. Identify plant health issues, pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and recommend appropriate solutions. Prune shrubs, ornamental trees, and perennials using proper horticultural practices. Weed, edge, mulch, deadhead, and maintain landscape beds to keep properties looking their best. Train crew members on proper gardening techniques, plant identification, and safe equipment operation. Drive company trucks to customer locations and ensure equipment is safely transported and maintained. Communicate professionally with customers and supervisors regarding property needs and completed work. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Qualifications Valid driver's license. Possess (or be willing to obtain) a DOT Medical Card (SLC will pay for certification). 3+ years of professional gardening, landscape maintenance, or horticulture experience, and/or an Associate's or bachelor's degree in Horticulture or a related field. Strong knowledge of plant identification, plant care, pruning, seasonal maintenance, and weed management. Ability to diagnose common plant health issues and recommend solutions. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a small crew. Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. Experience operating landscape equipment and towing trailers is preferred. Must be available for snow removal and plowing during the winter season. Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and perform bending, lifting, kneeling, and standing throughout the workday.
