Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Parks Superintendent to lead the management and operation of our outdoor recreational areas. In this vital role, you will oversee daily activities, ensure the safety and security of visitors and staff, and maintain the natural beauty and integrity of the Golf Course and Parks environments. Your leadership will foster a welcoming atmosphere for visitors while promoting environmental stewardship and resource conservation. Responsibilities Oversee Park and Golf Course operations, including groundskeeping, landscaping, parks rentals and tournament scheduling and maintenance of facilities. Develop and oversee operational budget for Department Supervise staff members, providing guidance on safety protocols, environmental interpretation, customer service, and conflict management. Ensure Park safety through security measures such as law enforcement collaboration, patrols, and emergency response planning. Conduct environmental resource management activities, including habitat preservation, invasive species control, and fire management strategies. Utilize GPS navigation tools for park mapping, patrol routes, and resource monitoring to optimize operational efficiency. Coordinate with local organizations on community event planning and facilitation. Perform or coordinate repairs involving irrigation, carpentry, construction experience, heavy lifting, or other maintenance tasks to keep park infrastructure in excellent condition. Respond promptly to visitor inquiries or concerns with exceptional customer service skills while promoting cultural competency and inclusivity. Lead outdoor work projects such as trail building or landscape maintenance while adhering to safety standards like first aid protocols. Manage conflict resolution among visitors or staff effectively while maintaining a positive environment. Document incidents or operational reports clearly through strong writing skills to ensure accurate record keeping. Experience Proven experience in outdoor work environments involving groundskeeping, landscaping, or park maintenance. Demonstrated leadership in supervising staff within a natural resource or outdoor recreation setting. Skills in operating various grounds maintenance tools—including chainsaws—and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently. $55,265.60 - $65,020.80 per year
