Supervises work to care for plants and trees, including mowing, trimming and planting, and work to repair driveways, walks, benches or other structures. 51,100 Position Summary The Supervisor, Grounds performs duties necessary to supervise and perform daily operational maintenance activities of the buildings, grounds, and landscaping of the campus. Primary Duties Performed Coordinates daily assignments to employees involving campus projects, operation, repair and maintenance, indoor/outdoor sanitation, turf care, and room setups Monitors campus work performed by outside contractors Initiates and may assist in the campus turf and irrigation operations, exterior landscape and flower beds, and implements landscape plans Oversees the repair and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment Provides safety training and instruction to personnel on all equipment and supplies utilized in the performance of duties Provides input to Manager, Facilities regarding the department budget and possible need for overtime, and monitors expenditures throughout the year Explains and enforces College policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations Serves as Acting Manager, Facilities in manager's absence Additional duties as assigne Qualifications/Experience Associate degree in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience Valid driver's license and insurance Chemical applicators license preferre Working Conditions On call availability 24/7 Occasionally works in extreme weather conditions Occasionally exposed to hazards or physical risks Work during weather emergencies is required
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance such as lifting and carrying equipment weighing 50 pounds or more Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, and reach Regularly required to use manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment Occasionally required to work on ladders at heights up to 25'
