REPORTS TO
Grounds Supervisor/ Foreman
JOB GOAL
To develop and maintain school grounds, athletic fields, and drainage systems in a manner that will enhance the public image of schools and the instructional environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, a 2 man crew. Assigning tasks and ensuring quality of work. Execute daily routes, efficiently operate all landscaping equipment and perform all aspects of lawn care. Enforce company safety protocols, ensure proper PPE use and maintain safe jobs sites. Manage, maintain and load/ unload trucks with tools and supplies and report any equipment issues. Experience with herbicide application preferred. Conditions and prepares soils and transplants or plants seeds, seedings or bulbs according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area Experience with heavy equipment (track loader, mini excavator, front end loader) preferred Drives trucks and transports tractor and ground maintenance equipment Makes minor repairs to mowers and other equipment. Observes work in progress and give directions for corrections as needed Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity. Reports outstanding or unsatisfactory work and behavior to supervisors Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform medium/heavy lifting exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to work in outside environments on a daily basis and inclement weather conditions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must hold an appropriate North Carolina drivers license for the weight and type of vehicles operated as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
