A Landscaping or Grounds Supervisor supervises the staff that provide landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Supervises work to care for plants and trees, including mowing, trimming and planting, and work to repair driveways, walks, benches or other structures. Oversees equipment maintenance and transportation, and communicates with residential customers.
Foreman We are seeking an experienced and dependable Foreman to oversee field crews and subcontractors performing grounds maintenance services. The Foreman will be responsible for coordinating daily work, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently, and maintaining the quality standards expected by the company and our customers. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate field employees and subcontractors on assigned job sites. Oversee grounds maintenance activities. Ensure crews arrive on time, have the necessary equipment and materials, and understand their assigned tasks. Monitor work throughout the day to ensure it is completed properly and according to project requirements. Identify and address quality issues or incomplete work before leaving the job site. Communicate daily progress, issues, and site conditions to the Project Manager. Help coordinate equipment, materials, manpower, and schedules to keep projects on track. Promote safe work practices and ensure employees follow company and site safety requirements. Work directly with subcontractors when necessary to ensure expectations and work requirements are clearly understood. Assist with documenting completed work and reporting any issues that may affect the project. Qualifications Previous experience as a Foreman, Crew Leader, Supervisor, or similar field leadership role preferred. Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, snow removal, construction, or a related industry. Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate field crews. Ability to assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed correctly and on schedule. Good communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with employees, subcontractors, and management. Ability to identify quality issues and take appropriate action to correct them. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to read and follow work plans, specifications, schedules, and site requirements. Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment and the ability to operate equipment when needed. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Ability to travel between multiple job sites as required. Comfortable using a smartphone for communication, scheduling, photographs, and basic documentation. Must be dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently. Ability to respond to changing schedules, weather conditions, and urgent project needs. Experience working on government facilities or contract-based projects is a plus.
