A Landscaping or Grounds Supervisor supervises the staff that provide landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Supervises work to care for plants and trees, including mowing, trimming and planting, and work to repair driveways, walks, benches or other structures. Oversees equipment maintenance and transportation, and communicates with residential customers.

Job Description

  • Landscape & Hardscape Foreman — $28-32/hr — Run Your Own Jobs (North Port / Venice / Port Charlotte)
  • Epic Horizons Landscaping is looking for an experienced foreman to run full installs start to finish with a two-man crew. This is a hybrid role — hardscape and landscape both.
  • What you'll do
  • Run jobsites from layout to final cleanup
  • Paver patios, driveways, walkways, retaining walls
  • Base prep, grading, compaction, saw and cut work
  • Drainage — French drains, downspout tie-ins, swales, grading water away from structures
  • Planting — trees, palms, shrubs, sod, bed prep, mulch
  • Irrigation repairs and adjustments
  • Operate mini skid steer, plate compactor, wet saw
  • Drive company truck and trailer, pick up material
  • Direct two crew members, keep the job on schedule
  • Talk to homeowners professionally when the owner isn't on site
  • What you need
  • 5+ years landscape/hardscape install experience, at least 2 running your own crew
  • Solid on base depth, edge restraint, poly sand, clean saw cuts
  • Real understanding of drainage — how to read a site and move water correctly
  • Know Florida plant material: planting depth, root ball handling, palm installation, what survives here
  • Comfortable towing and backing a trailer
  • Valid Florida driver's license, clean driving record
  • Two references from past employers or GCs you've run work for
  • Show up on time, answer your phone
  • Nice to have
  • Retaining wall experience with geogrid
  • Irrigation troubleshooting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • SWFL experience — shell marl base, sandy soil, local plant palette
  • What we offer

  • 40 hours most weeks, occasionally 32
