The Landscape Supervisor coordinates the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of parks and trails.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Care for and maintain the health and aesthetic of plant beds in accordance with park standards Perform daily tasks including planting, transplanting, pruning, mulching, and weeding Maintain plant records to ensure adherence to garden design intent Oversee a small team and assist with supervision of volunteers during planting and maintenance activities Implement pest management and monitor plant health Prepare soil and apply amendments Coordinate seasonal planting for color and visual interest Monitor soil moisture and irrigation systems daily, repair minor leaks, and report issues as needed Maintain and repair gravel pathways Rake and remove trash. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in park management, environmental science, ecology, etc. a plus) Three to five (3 - 5) years of progressively responsible experience in landscape maintenance, grounds and facility maintenance (park maintenance preferred but not required) A minimum of one (1) year supervisory or lead experience Certifications related to turf management, pesticide applications, equipment operation, etc. a plus Valid Texas driver's license (current and in good standing) CPR and first aid training a plus Abilities Knowledge of park maintenance practices such as landscaping and turf management, irrigation, and basic facilities Ability to supervise and motivate a workforce Working knowledge of occupational safety practices and equipment operation Familiarity with landscaping and facility construction plans, schedules, and maintenance logs Be a collaborative team player committed to maintaining positive engagement with colleagues and the public Work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks Safely operate manual and power tools Lift up to 50 pounds Please reach out to Carlos Mejia at MEMCO Houston or email resume to Carlos@MemcoStaffing.com for more information #MEM-HOU
