Job Description

LICENSED IRRIGATION TEAM LEAD
Sagebrush Landscaping | San Marcos, TX Full-Time Position Sagebrush Landscaping is looking for an experienced Texas Licensed Landscape Irrigator (LI) to lead and help build our in-house irrigation team. This position is ideal for someone who is knowledgeable, dependable, hands-on, and comfortable overseeing irrigation projects from planning through installation and completion. The Licensed Irrigation Team Lead will supervise a small irrigation crew while working closely with our landscaping and construction teams on residential projects throughout the San Marcos and surrounding Central Texas area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and supervise a small in-house irrigation installation and repair crew. Design, install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair residential irrigation systems. Review landscape plans and determine irrigation layouts, zones, equipment, and material requirements. Perform field measurements and assist with estimating irrigation materials and labor. Ensure irrigation installations comply with TCEQ requirements, local codes, water-conservation requirements, and approved plans. Serve as the company's Licensed Irrigator and provide required supervision of irrigation work. Coordinate irrigation work with landscaping, concrete, construction, drainage, and other trades. Program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers, valves, wiring, heads, drip systems, and related components. Perform system inspections and identify necessary repairs or modifications. Manage irrigation materials and communicate material needs before projects begin. Train and supervise irrigation technicians/installers. Maintain organized job sites and ensure work is completed efficiently and professionally. Communicate project issues, changes, and progress with management. Assist with scheduling and planning irrigation projects. Maintain required irrigation documentation and records. Ensure company vehicles, tools, and irrigation equipment are properly maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Texas Landscape Irrigator (LI) License required. Previous professional irrigation installation and repair experience required. Strong understanding of residential irrigation systems, including spray, rotor, drip, valves, controllers, wiring, and troubleshooting. Ability to read landscape/site plans and develop irrigation layouts. Knowledge of TCEQ irrigation regulations and applicable local requirements. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to train and effectively direct irrigation technicians and helpers. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to perform physical outdoor work in Central Texas conditions. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
