Field Supervisor / Foreperson - Landscaping & Fine Gardening Garden Girls Nursery, LLC | Salt Lake City, Utah Garden Girls Nursery is seeking an experienced, highly capable Field Supervisor / Foreperson to lead and support our landscaping and fine-gardening teams in the field. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands that exceptional landscapes require both horticultural knowledge and strong leadership . We are looking for a solution-oriented individual who can confidently manage crews, communicate with clients, solve problems in real time, operate equipment, and help create a positive, productive culture. Our ideal candidate is someone who sees what needs to happen, takes ownership, communicates clearly, motivates others, and works alongside the team to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities Lead, supervise, motivate, and support landscape and gardening crews in the field Organize daily work and clearly communicate priorities, expectations, and job-site goals Work alongside the team when necessary and lead by example Maintain a positive, respectful, productive work environment Keep crews moving efficiently while maintaining Garden Girls' standards for quality and detail Troubleshoot challenges and find practical solutions without allowing problems to stall a project Communicate professionally with clients, team members, management, subcontractors, and vendors Review job notes, landscape plans, plant layouts, photographs, and project instructions before and during work Recognize plant material and understand proper placement, planting, pruning, care, and maintenance Identify problems involving plant health, watering, irrigation, soil conditions, pests, or installation Oversee proper use and care of company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment Safely drive large company vehicles and tow landscape trailers Assist with loading, securing, transporting, and unloading plants, materials, tools, and equipment Make sure crews arrive prepared with the appropriate materials and equipment for each project Monitor job-site cleanliness, organization, safety, and professionalism Communicate project progress, concerns, material needs, staffing issues, and client requests to management Help train less-experienced employees and strengthen the skills of the entire team Hold team members accountable while treating people professionally and respectfully Protect company property, client property, tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant material Help ensure projects are completed efficiently, beautifully, safely, and according to Garden Girls standards Required Experience & Qualifications We are looking for someone with significant hands-on landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or nursery experience . Candidates should have strong knowledge in most or all of the following areas: Plant identification Trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and groundcovers Proper planting techniques Fine gardening and landscape maintenance Pruning and plant care Soil preparation and amendments Irrigation fundamentals and troubleshooting Landscape installation Garden renovation and seasonal maintenance Proper use of landscape tools and equipment Safe job-site practices Reading landscape plans and following detailed project instructions Leadership Qualities This position requires much more than landscape experience. We need someone who can lead people successfully .

Tools, Equipment & Driving Applicants must: Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Be comfortable safely driving larger work vehicles Be comfortable towing and maneuvering landscape trailers Be highly proficient and comfortable using landscaping tools and equipment Understand safe and proper equipment operation Have reliable personal transportation to and from work Be physically capable of performing hands-on landscape work when needed Experience with trucks, trailers, compact equipment, power tools, irrigation tools, blowers, trimmers, saws, and other landscape equipment is strongly preferred. Client Communication Our Field Supervisor represents Garden Girls on our clients' properties.

You should be the type of person who notices: What needs to happen next? What is missing? What could become a problem? Who needs direction? How can we accomplish this more efficiently without sacrificing quality? We want someone who takes ownership of those questions. About Garden Girls Garden Girls Nursery has been creating and caring for beautiful Utah landscapes since 2002 . Our work includes landscape design, installation, fine gardening, maintenance, irrigation, seasonal planting, planters, and detailed residential and commercial landscape projects. Our company is known for thoughtful landscapes, beautiful plant combinations, attention to detail, and a high level of personal service. We are looking for a leader who wants to help us continue raising that standard. Ideal Candidate You may be a great fit if you are an experienced landscape foreperson, horticulturist, gardener, landscape crew leader, landscape superintendent, nursery professional, or experienced landscape installer who is ready for greater leadership responsibility. This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for someone who already has substantial field knowledge and is ready to be trusted with a team, equipment, projects, and client relationships.
