A Landscaping or Groundskeeping Worker provides landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Provides care for plants and trees including mowing, trimming and planting, and repairs driveways, walks, benches or other structures.
Basic Function Under the supervision of the Pioneer Park or Park Maintenance Supervisor or Parks Caretaker, performs routine, somewhat skilled, work involving construction, maintenance, grounds keeping, general repair activities, and related work as required. Incumbent may be required to work at Pioneer Park or Park Maintenance.

EXPECTED DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT
May 11, 2026 through September 22, 2026. Typical Duties 1. Assists with the construction and repair of playground equipment, fences, flowerbeds, picnic tables, benches, signs, boardwalks, and other park amenities. 2. Uses power tools and equipment to repair turf, mow grass, cut weeds, maintain trails, and clear brush. 3. Plants seeds, bulbs, fertilizes, prunes, and water park and garden areas. 4. Performs trash and litter pickup and collection duties. 5. Loads and unloads materials, equipment, and supplies. 6. Assists in conversion support for special events. 7. Performs heavy manual work as assigned for extended periods under adverse weather conditions. 8. Operates large mowers, small tractors, and other motorized equipment related to park maintenance. 9. Performs routine restroom maintenance and other custodial duties. 10. On an occasional basis, perform work responsibilities of other parks maintenance positions. Position Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. One year previous experience involving construction, general repair, and upkeep of facilities and/or grounds maintenance using hand and power tools and/or related equipment. 2. Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age at time of employment. 3. Experience in operating a variety of motorized tools, implements, and equipment (tractors, riding mowers, push mowers, brush cutters, etc.). 4. Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver's license. Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under the Borough's insurance program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1.

Shop area where conditions are pleasant; varied outdoor work sites with disagreeable conditions with undesirable elements or factors on a somewhat continuous basis; up to 3/4 of time spent standing, or walking; minor accident/hazard risk; requires sustained periods of heavy lifting, pushing or pulling (50+ lbs.); a full range of body movement to include crouching, stopping, stretching, and the ability to carry equipment up/down stairs. This position falls under the Borough's Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) Exposure Control Program as it is reasonably anticipated that infrequent exposure to blood or other bodily fluids may occur while performing some job duties.
