Park at Whispering Pines, Daphne, AL About the Position Park at Whispering Pines is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to join our property management team. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall upkeep of our apartment community. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable performing a variety of general maintenance tasks, and works well as part of a team. This position will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to keep the property looking clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property's grounds and common areas Keep breezeways clean and free of trash, debris, leaves, and other materials Blow out breezeways and other exterior areas as needed Pick up litter and debris throughout the property on a daily basis Empty and maintain exterior trash receptacles Maintain and clean the community's pet park and surrounding areas Monitor the property for potential safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and rule violations Report safety violations, property damage, and maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager Perform general grounds upkeep, including light landscaping and exterior cleanup Assist with the upkeep and appearance of buildings, fencing, sidewalks, parking areas, and other common areas Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with appliance replacements and installations Assist with general maintenance tasks and work orders as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor Help prepare vacant apartments and common areas when needed Assist with moving, hauling, cleaning, and other property-related tasks Help maintain maintenance areas, tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized condition Perform routine property walks to identify areas needing attention Maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance throughout the community Follow all company safety policies and procedures Provide excellent customer service to residents when working throughout the community Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager Qualifications Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, apartment maintenance, or property maintenance experience preferred General knowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep preferred Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as needed Ability to work independently while also taking direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean property Dependable, punctual, and reliable Good communication and teamwork skills Must be able to interact professionally and respectfully with residents and coworkers Valid driver's license preferred What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in the property they care for and understands that clean, safe, well-maintained grounds make a major difference in the resident experience. The right candidate will be someone who sees something that needs to be cleaned, picked up, blown off, repaired, or reported and takes initiative to address it rather than waiting to be asked. Physical Requirements This position requires regular physical activity, including walking the property, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and working outdoors.
