What You'll Do Greet and assist customers with plant selection, care advice, and garden planning Answer questions on plant varieties, soil, fertilization, pest issues, and seasonal care (we grow in Zone 7b, so familiarity with our local climate is a plus) Water, prune, and maintain the health and appearance of plant inventory Receive, unload, and stock plant and garden merchandise shipments Lift and move pots, bagged soil, mulch, and other garden materials (up to 50 lbs regularly) Keep the garden center clean, organized, and visually appealing Load customer purchases and assist with curbside/vehicle loading Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity during peak season Work with team to achieve each days common goal What We're Looking For Genuine knowledge of and enthusiasm for plants — annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, and houseplants Prior nursery, greenhouse, landscaping, or garden center experience preferred Comfortable working outside in heat, cold, and everything in between Be able to lift 50 lbs Be able to work weekends Being able to work as a team Have great customer service skills to be able to assist customers Why Brooks & Collier Family-owned, community-rooted business with an 80-year legacy in Huntsville Employee discount on plants and garden products A team environment where people look out for one another
