Job Description Employee is directly responsible to the Grounds Supervisor Essential duties Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, planting, and watering of lawns and landscaped areas. Be knowledgeable about lawn pests and diseases and treatments. Apply fertilizers and weed control chemicals in compliance with Alabama laws. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to lawn care equipment. Daily upkeep of grounds which includes cleaning and trash removal. Repair components of outdoor facilities, i.e. bleachers and athletic field fences. Maintain and repair ground irrigation systems. Special event setup and parking. Other duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor. May include general maintenance duties. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in grounds work or related field. Valid Driver's License required. Must pass background check and fingerprinting. Physical requirements and work environment Regularly operates a variety of power tools and equipment. May climb ladders to rooftops. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
