$25.00 - $33.00 per hour Join the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas are seeking a skilled and dedicated Groundskeeper III to help maintain and enhance our beautiful 33-acre campus in Auburn, CA. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our grounds reflect the dignity, care, and welcoming spirit of our community. This is a highly visible position within the campus community. The Groundskeeper III is often seen by residents, staff, and visitors and serves as a representative of the Sisters of Mercy through professionalism, respect, and service. What We Offer Full-time position Competitive pay: $25.00 - $33.00/hour Medical, dental, and vision benefits Paid vacation and sick time 403(b) retirement plan Mission-driven, supportive work environment Job Purpose The Groundskeeper III leads and performs advanced grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and high-quality outdoor environment. This role oversees landscaping activities including lawn care, planting, pruning, and treatment application, while coordinating irrigation maintenance and equipment upkeep. The position also supports staff development, enforces safety standards, and ensures the campus remains well-maintained and visually welcoming. Key Responsibilities Perform and lead comprehensive grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and weed control Oversee application of fertilizers, chemicals, and treatments in compliance with safety regulations Coordinate irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repairs Maintain safe, clean, and visually appealing exterior campus areas Oversee grounds equipment use, maintenance, and storage Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper PPE use Identify hazards and coordinate timely resolution of issues Support training, mentoring, and day-to-day coordination of grounds staff Participate in meetings, seasonal projects, and campus support needs
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED 4-6+ years of groundskeeping or landscaping experience Experience in advanced landscaping and/or lead or coordination responsibilities Valid driver's license Valid Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) or Qualified Applicator License (QAL) Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
