POSITION OVERVIEW

The Gardener position at Tradition Golf Club is an introductory position in golf course maintenance. Will work with assistant superintendents to keep the golf course in stunning condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: Trimming trees, shrubs, and flowers. Weeding flowerbeds and other turf areas. Planting trees, shrubs, and flowers. Edging and weeding bunkers. Edging cart paths. Edging around fairway yardage markers. Hand raking leaves and other debris. Cultivating flowerbeds. Prepare flowers beds for planting this includes applying fertilizer, mulch and pesticides to the soil and turning it under and thoroughly mixing it to create a good flowerbed. Installing bender board. Applying divot mix to driving range tee and other tees on the golf course. Operate fly-mows. Cleaning restrooms. Weed eating around trees, bunkers, and cart path curbs. Operate Honda rotary mowers. Pick up grass piles. Rake bunkers with gas powered Toro Sand Pro or similar equipment. Mow green with riding or walking green mower. Mow tees and green approaches with riding or walking mowers. Will use large mowers and tractors on a limited basis. Blow cart paths with backpack blowers or riding blowers. Fertilizing tees, greens, fairways, and roughs. Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for cleaning tools and equipment used that day. Perform additional duties as instructed by management. Responsible for checking fluid levels before operating any machine. Laying sod. Leadership

Willing to learn and put forth effort. Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities Licensed driver preferred, but not required. Required Licenses/Certifications Driver's license preferred.
